It occurs very seldom that somebody hesitate whether to buy digital camera or analogue. It's clear to me - the only solution is the digital camera. Why do i make it so definitely? The answer is simple. For a lot of conditions the digital camera is much better and what is the most important... it is cheaper.

Here I would like to dispel a myth about the irreplaceable analogue cameras. In my opinion times when we honesty could tell that the quality of the traditional photos are better than digital are over. Plenty of times I hear such a statement and then I begin discussion about it. Frequently it turns out that people saying it don't have slightest idea of cameras, but they only "heard". It explains why they think so. When someone tell such person who knows nothing about photography that pictures made by analogue camera always exceed digital, the listener begins to believe in it and pass on to another people. When I talk with them it occurs that they compare reflex analogue to the digital compact. It happens because a lot of people remember e.g. "Zenit" or even they have it at home. They compare it to the compact digital bought by the family or friends. Obviously in such a comparison analogue wins. But, we forgot that this comparison is indeed the comparison of a reflex and a compact camera and the reflex camera is much higher standard and for the present it is always better.

In a comparison of the compact cameras between the analogue and digital the digital pictures always will win. Differently, when we compare analogue reflex to digital reflex it's not so easy to judge and there are a lot of contrary opinions and even I cannot indicate which picture has a better quality. On the other hand, it is obvious that analogue reflex cameras we can buy for hundreds of zloty (e.g. Nikon F55, Nikon F75 - the reflex cameras for the amateurs with a standard lens), while the price of the digital SLR camera is still a matter of thousands (the cheapest digital SLR camera - Canon EOS 300D i 350D, Nikon D50). The reasons why we choose digital cameras are following: no costs of taking a photo, the ability of taking it in thousands, the simplicity of browsing the photos and the ability of deleting the failed frames.
